Digital Graphics Reflection
Self Assessment –
I enjoyed the Digital Graphics class more than I expected I would. I began the class feeling intimidated and nervous, but now I know that you don’t have to start a class knowing how to do something because that is why you are taking the class. Talk about an “aha“ moment, I always feel like I need to be ahead of the curve in a class and when I started this class I was nowhere near ahead in fact I was probably pretty far behind the curve. But that was ok, because I learned so much from this class in the area of animation, newsletters and self branding. I think my favorite product of this class was the newsletter; it was such a labor of love. It took me many hours to complete, but I was so proud of myself for working it through.
Learn as a learner –
I did a lot of research during this class, because as I stated before I did not enter this class with a good knowledge base. I used Google and YouTube for articles and videos to learn about newsletter layout and basics of animation. The thing I found very interesting about my research is that one of the most beneficial you tube videos was done by a child about 10 years old. He was clear and direct about his directions and I learned a lot from his video.
Lifelong learning skills –
I am leaving this course with a new knowledge base that I will carry with me to my current position and the career path that I desire. I am now able to create a newsletter that is professional and, I feel proficient in sharing that knowledge with others. The other topic I can’t wait to share with my colleagues is the Digital Taxonomy by Blooms. I feel that this is going to be such a staple to this generations’ learning, and I am glad to have this information as part of my teaching arsenal.
